L’artista italiana Alessia Iannetti presenta alla Dorothy Circus Gallery London la sua mostra “The Little Boy and the Glowing Globe” che raccoglie le illustrazioni dedicate all’omonima favola, scritta dalla musicista svedese Anna Von Hausswolff e dalla regista Maria Von Hausswolff.

The Italian artist Alessia Iannetti presents at the Dorothy Circus Gallery London her exhibition “The Little Boy and the Glowing Globe” which collects the illustrations of the homonymous fable, written by Swedish musician Anna Von Hausswolff and director Maria Von Hausswolff.

Alessia ha realizzato dodici opere in grafite e acquerelli su carta per rappresentare la storia di “The Little Boy and the Glowing Globe” che narra di un bambino vissuto nel buio di una stanza, finché, mutato in spirito, inizia l’eterna ricerca della luce.

Alessia has created twelve works in graphite and watercolors on paper to represent the story of “The Little Boy and the Glowing Globe” that tells of a child who lived in a dark room, until, changed in spirit, begins the eternal search for light.

Questa favola fa parte di un bellissimo progetto editoriale a scopo benefico, il cui ricavato andrà alle organizzazioni letterarie che si occupano dell’alfabetizzazione dei bambini nel mondo. Il libro, raccolta di favole, si chiama “Stories for Ways & Means”, edito da Waxploitation Records, e vede tra gli autori star della musica rock come: Nick Cave, Tom Waits, Justin Vernon (Bon Iver), Kathleen Hanna (Bikini Kill, Le Tigre), il frontman dei Pixies Frank Black, Laura Marling, Devendra Banhart, Alec Empire, Alison Mosshart (Kills, Dead Weather), Eugene Hutz (Gogol Bordello), Gary Numan e molti altri.
Musica, arte e letteratura, unite per i bambini.

This fable is part of a beautiful editorial project for charity, whose proceeds go to literary organizations that deal with the literacy of children in the world. The book, a collection of fairy tales, is called “Stories for Ways & Means”, published by Waxploitation Records, and we can find among the authors rock music stars such as: Nick Cave, Tom Waits, Justin Vernon (Bon Iver), Kathleen Hanna (Bikini Kill, Le Tigre), Pixies frontman Frank Black, Laura Marling, Devendra Banhart, Alec Empire, Alison Mosshart (Kills, Dead Weather), Eugene Hutz (Gogol Bordello), Gary Numan and many others.

Quando ho letto “The Little Boy and the Glowing Globe” delle sorelle Von Hausswolff ho capito immediatamente che sarebbe stata la storia perfetta per me. Leggendo tra le righe della favola riuscivo a cogliere ogni dettaglio più oscuro e sfuggente, percepivo un’atmosfera familiare, onirica e misteriosa che in qualche modo faceva parte di me, e che mi accompagnava lentamente attraverso la storia. La favola del bambino fantasma e i suoi scenari sconosciuti riflettevano le dimensioni intime dei miei dipinti, tanto da sembrare essere stata scritta per me e per quel momento della mia vita.

When I read “The Little Boy and the Glowing Globe” by the Von Hausswolff sisters, I immediately understood that would have been the perfect story for me. Reading between the lines of the tale, I could grasp every obscure and fleeing detail, I could perceive a familiar atmosphere, oneiric and mysterious, that concerned me in a way, and was slowly leading me through story. The tale of a ghost child and its unknown sceneries reflected the intimate dimensions of my paintings, so it looked as if it was written for me and for that moment of my life.
