Cat Art Show è una mostra inaugurata il 26 gennaio alla 101/exhibit di Los Angeles che celebra il gatto, non semplicemente come affettuoso animaletto domestico, ma esplora il suo ruolo ispirazionale, che ha affascinato culture e artisti nei secoli, basti pensare a quanto fosse importante nell’immaginario religioso egizio, fino ad arrivare in tempi più recenti a essere protagonista anche nelle opere di Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Utagawa Kuniyoshi e Pablo Picasso.

Cat Art Show is an exhibition opened on January 26 at 101/exhibit in Los Angeles that celebrates the cat, not only as a loving pet, but explores the inspirational role that has fascinated artists through the centuries, suffice it to say how it was important in the Egyptian religion, up to Pierre-Auguste Renoir’s, Utagawa Kuniyoshi’s and Pablo Picasso’s works in more recent times.

Al Cat Art Show hanno preso parte 70 artisti internazionali, che hanno raccontato l’amato felino in una molteplicità di sfaccettature, come creatura agile e flessuosa, predatore istintivo, sonnecchioso amico, tenera palla di pelo, come musa ricca di simbologie e significati.

70 international artists have taken part in Cat Art Show, they represented the beloved feline in many facets, as agile creature, instinctive predator, sleepy friend, as muse rich in symbolism and meaning.
