Doctor Strange è il quattordicesimo film del Marvel Cinematic Universe prodotto dai Marvel Studios e distribuito dai Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, che presenta un nuovo personaggio interpretato da Benedict Cumberbatch.
Il film è stato girato tra il Nepal, il Regno Unito, New York e Hong Kong ed è nelle sale italiane dal 20 ottobre mentre in quelle statunitensi dal 4 novembre.

Doctor Strange is the fourteenth film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, which introduces a new character played by Benedict Cumberbatch.
The movie was shot in Nepal, United Kingdom, New York and Hong Kong and it’s released in Italian cinemas on October 20 while in the US on November 4.

Trama / Plot

Stephen Strange è un famoso neurochirurgo, conduce una vita lussuosa, è capriccioso e si sente un dio, ma un giorno tutto il suo mondo crolla quando a causa di un incidente perde l’uso delle mani.
In breve tempo dilapida tutto il suo patrimonio in cerca di una cura che lo guarisca, finché non incontra Jonathan Pangborn, un paraplegico misteriosamente ritornato camminare, che gli rivela che quello sta cercando è a Kamar-Taj.
Inizierà così il percorso del diffidente Dottor Strange che si troverà ad apprendere le arti mistiche, che conferiscono un immenso potere che può essere usato per il bene o il male, sotto la guida dell’Antico.

Stephen Strange is a famous neurosurgeon, he leads a luxurious life, he’s capricious and arrogant, but his whole world collapses when due to an accident he can’t control his hands anymore.
In short time he squanders all his money searching for a cure until he meets Jonathan Pangborn, a paraplegic who mysteriously walks again, who reveals that he can find what he’s looking for at Kamar-Taj.
The suspicious Doctor Strange begins the path to learn the mystical arts that give an immense positive or corrupted power under the guide of the Ancient One.

Commento / Review

Doctor Strange è un personaggio dell’Universo Marvel a cui non siamo mai state particolarmente affezionate, non ci aspettavamo di essere molto coinvolte, ma ci siamo dovute ricredere.
Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange) e Tilda Swinton (l’Antico) hanno restituito due interpretazioni esemplari e siamo rimaste rapite dagli effetti speciali, davvero fantastici, soprattutto nelle scene dei paradossi temporali.
In questo film è presente in maniera molto significativa l’antitesi tra l’uso positivo di poteri e l’oscurità che alberga nei nostri cuori che ne sono facile preda, ma a differenza di altri film ci sono molte sfumature e non tutto è bene o male.

Doctor Strange is a Marvel Universe character that we’ve never been particularly fond of, so we did not expect to be very involved, but we changed our mind.
Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange) and Tilda Swinton (the Ancient One) played beautifully their roles and we loved the special effects, really great, especially in the scenes of the temporal paradoxes.
In this film is very present the antithesis between the positive use of the power and the darkness that dwells in our hearts that can be easily be corrupted, but unlike other films there are many shades and it’s not everything just good or bad.
