Estate per le Kawaii Girls vuol dire solo una cosa in ambito culinario: gelato!
Per noi che non riusciamo ad abbandonarlo nemmeno in inverno, l’estate diventa la stagione perfetta perché i gusti si moltiplicano, i gelati diventano sempre più grandi e in arte… enormi!
Per rendere omaggio alla stagione estiva, ecco una raccolta di gelati nell’arte, come la scultura interpreta questo dolce paradisiaco.
For the Kawaii Girls summer means only one thing in the culinary field: ice cream!
We can’t give up ice cream even in winter, so the summer is the perfect season because there are much more flavours, and ice creams become bigger and in art… huge!
To pay tribute to the summer season, here is a collection of ice creams in the art, as sculpture interprets this paradisiac sweet.
- Orest Keywan - Melting Mr Whippy van
In Australia da Bondi Beach a Tamarama Beach, durante la 10° edizione della mostra Sculpture by the Sea, nel 2006 è stato possibile ammirare una bellissima scultura di Orest Keywan, che raffigura un camioncino dei gelati Mr Whippy sciolto.
During 10th Sculpture by the Sea exhibition in 2006 on the coastal walk from Bondi to Tamarama beach in Australia, it was possible to watch a beautiful installation made by Orest Keywan, that represents a melting ice cream Mr Whippy van.

- Claes Oldenburg - Dropped Cone
Il famoso cono rovesciato di Colonia installato nel 2001 e commissionato dai proprietari del centro commerciale di Neumarkt Square. Dropped Cone rappresenta la “cornucopia del consumismo”, “un segno di trasitorietà”, inoltre rende omaggio a questo dolce così popolare in città e gioca con l’assonanza tra “cone” (cono) e “Cologne” (Colonia).
The famous Dropped Cone in Cologne, installed in 2001 and commissioned by the owners of the shopping mall in Neumarkt Square. Dropped Cone represents a “cornucopia of consumerism” and a “sign of transience”, in addition it pays homage to this popular sweet in this city and plays with the assonance between “cone” and “Cologne”.

- Buff Monster - Art of The New World
Il famoso street artist Buff Monster nel 2010 ha realizzato per la mostra “Art From The New World” al Bristol City Museum un murales… ma ha anche installato un dolcissimo cono gonfiabile alto 4 metri e mezzo.
The famous street artist Buff Monster has created for “Art From The New World” exhibition at Bristol City Museum in 2010 a mural… but he also installed a sweet fifteen-foot tall inflatable ice cream cone.

Nel 2011 per il lancio di Android Ice Cream Sandwich, la sede di Google a Mountain View in California, ha avuto il piacere di ospitare tante gustose sculture che hanno allietato la giornata dei fortunati dipendenti Google.
