Guardiani della Galassia Vol. 2 è il quindicesimo film del Marvel Cinematic Universe, è stato scritto e diretto da James Gunn, prodotto dai Marvel Studios e distribuito da Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures nelle sale italiane dal 25 aprile e dal 5 maggio negli USA.
Alcuni degli interpreti del film sono Chris Pratt (Peter Quill / Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax il Distruttore), Vin Diesel (Baby Groot), Bradley Cooper (Rocket), Michael Rooker (Yondu Udonta), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Sylvester Stallone (Stakar Ogord / Starhawk) e Kurt Russell (Ego).
Giovedì scorso abbiamo visto la preview ed ecco le nostre impressioni.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is the fifteenth movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it was written and directed by James Gunn, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures in Italian cinemas from April 25 and in US from May 5.
The cast includes Chris Pratt (Peter Quill / Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax the Destroyer), Vin Diesel (Baby Groot), Bradley Cooper (Rocket), Michael Rooker (Yondu Udonta), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Sylvester Stallone (Stakar Ogord / Starhawk) and Kurt Russell (Ego).
We watched the premiere the past Thursday and here are our comments.

Trama / Plot

Il film si apre con un breve flashback nel 1980, vediamo dei momenti felici tra la mamma di Peter Quill e il padre Ego, un alieno sorridente che decide di innestare nei boschi del Missouri delle piante misteriose.
Nel nostro tempo vediamo i Guardiani della Galassia chiamati da Ayesha, alta sacerdotessa dei Sovereign, popolazione geneticamente “perfetta”, per difendere delle batterie dal valore inestimabile da un mostro interdimensionale. I nostri eroi riescono nel compito e chiedono come merce di scambio Nebula, sorella di Gamora, prigioniera dei Sovereign.
Sappiamo che i nostri Guardiani non sono dei santi e, come prevedibile, lo scambio va storto e li vediamo in difficoltà cercare di sfuggire dai Sovereign inferociti.
In loro aiuto interviene Ego, che si rivela al figlio e gli chiede di seguirlo nel suo pianeta personale, mentre i Sovereign assoldano Yondu Udonta per vendicarsi dei Guardiani della Galassia.

The film begins with a flashback in 1980, we watch some happy moments between Peter Quill’s mom and his father Ego, a smiling alien who decides to seed mysterious plants in the woods of Missouri.
In our time the Guardians of the Galaxy are called by Ayesha, High Priestess of the Sovereign, a genetically ‘perfect’ population, to defend batteries with an inestimable value from an interdimensional monster. Our heroes succeed and ask Nebula, Gamora’ sister and Sovereign’s prisoner, as exchange.
We all know that the Guardians are not saints and, as foreseeable, the exchange goes wrong and they get into trouble trying to escape the Sovereign rage.
Ego, who reveals himself as Quill’s father, help them and ask to follow him on his personal planet, while the Sovereign are hiring Yondu Udonta to kill the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Commento / Review

Rispetto al primo film della saga, questo volume due focalizza l’attenzione dello spettatore sul passato dei membri dei Guardiani della Galassia, mostrandone le fragilità e motivandone i comportamenti e il carattere.
Nonostante sia un film più “intimo”, che affronta tematiche delicate e particolarmente emozionanti, non manca l’azione che ci segue senza sosta per tutta la durata del film, con l’immancabile irriverenza che contraddistingue i Guardiani anche nei momenti più critici.
Come nel primo capitolo sono straordinari gli effetti speciali e la colonna sonora vintage, che si integra alla perfezione sia con i ritmi incalzanti che con quelli più riflessivi del film.
Da vedere assolutamente con i fazzoletti a portata di mano! Non alzatevi prima che siano finiti i titoli di coda!

Compared to the first film of the saga, this volume two focuses the spectator’s attention on the past of the Guardians of the Galaxy, showing their fragility and explaining their behaviors and attitude.
Although it is a more ‘intimate’ film that deals with delicate and moving themes, there is a lot of action all the time, with a touch of irreverence that characterizes the Guardians even in the most critical moments.
As in the first chapter, the special effects are extraordinary as the vintage soundtrack, which perfectly matches with both the fast-paced and the reflexive rhythms of the movie.
Absolutely worth watching with handkerchiefs! Do not get up before the closing credits are over!
