Quante volte avete letto la fiaba di Cenerentola e desiderato di essere la romantica protagonista dell’omonimo cartone animato Disney?
Immaginate la rivisitazione in chiave gothic kawaii di Cenerentola (che in inglese si traduce con Cinderella) dell’illustratrice giapponese Junko Mizuno ed ecco: Cinderalla! Un misto di horror, humor, ciccinerie ed ammiccamenti sensuali.

How many times have you read Cinderella and wanted to be the romantic protagonist of Disney animated movie?
Imagine a kawaii gothic reinterpretation of Cinderella made by the Japanese illustrator Junko Mizuno, here is: Cinderalla! A mixture of horror, humor, cuteness and seductive winks.

Cinderalla è horror kawaii perchè…
♥ Cinderalla gestisce insieme al padre un ristorante la cui specialità sono gli yakitori (spiedini giapponesi) di… uccellini! Dolcissimi volatili cicciottelli che vengono spennati e serviti su degli spiedi ai clienti. Poveretti!
♥ Come in Cenerentola, anche in Cinderalla i coprotagonisti sono la matrigna, le sorellastre, il padre e il principe, ma sono… degli zombie!
♥ E i topolini aiutanti che vengono trasformati in destrieri per accompagnare Cenerentola al ballo? Qui ce n’è solo uno ed è gigante: una topolona.
♥ Cinderalla allo scoccar della mezzanotte non perde la scarpetta bensì… l’occhio! Originalissima la scena in cui il principe ne cerca la proprietaria e le pretendenti si cavano un occhio nella speranza di essere le prescelte.

Cinderalla is horror kawaii because…
♥ Cinderalla and his father run a restaurant whose specialty is yakitori (Japanese skewers) made of… birds! Sweet chubby birds that are plucked and served in skewers for the customers. Poor things!
♥ Also in this Cinderella the co-stars are the stepmother, the stepsisters, the father and the prince, but they are… zombies!
♥ There aren’t the little mice, which help Cinderella and are turned into horses to bring her to the ball, but there is only a huge one: a big female mouse.
♥ Cinderalla does not lose her shoe at midnight but… the eye! A truly original scene is when the prince is looking for the owner of the eye and the suitors pull out their eyes in the hope of being chosen.

♥ Le sorellastre non sono bruttissime, bensì belle e procaci: Akko è alla ricerca del reggiseno perfetto per via della sua taglia abbondante e Aki fa balletti sensuali attorno agli avventori del ristorante.

♥ Cinderalla does the housework undress and she gives herself to the prince!
♥ The stepsisters are not ugly, but beautiful and provocative: Akko is looking for the perfect bra because of her big breasts and Aki makes sexy dance near the customers.

Per la prima volta è stata dedicata a Cinderalla una mostra presso la galleria californiana Nucleus dal 6 al 29 agosto.
Sono esposte al pubblico tutte le 120 pagine originali del manga in bianco e nero, inchiostrate da Junko Mizuno con i balloon scritti a matita.
In vendita presso la galleria tutte le tavole, delle vere e proprie chicche kawaii. L’artista ha creato 5 stampe giclée speciali a colori che andranno in omaggio a chi acquisterà le singole tavole.
Inoltre è possibile acquistare una copia autografata del manga in lingua inglese.

For the first time it was dedicated an exhibition to Cinderalla at Nucleus gallery in California from August 6 to 29.
It’s possible to see all 120 original pages in black and white of this manga, inked by Junko Mizuno and with pencil text.
All the pages are sold at the gallery, they are true kawaii rarities. The artist has created 5 special color giclée prints available through the purchase of an original illustration.
It also possible to buy an autographed copy of the manga in English.

Cinderalla è un manga a colori pubblicato nel 1995 in Giappone da Koushinsya, tradotto in inglese nel 2002 da Viz Media e giunto in Italia solo nel 2006 grazie alla casa editrice francese IMHO.
Oltre a Cenerentola, Junko Mizuno si è divertita a dare la sua versione anche di Hansel & Gretel e di La Sirenetta (Princess Mermaid), non ancora tradotte in italiano, ma disponibili in inglese.

Cinderalla is a colored manga published in 1995 in Japan by Koushinsya, translated into English by Viz Media in 2002 and come in Italy only in 2006 thanks to the French publishing house IMHO.
In addition to Cinderella, Junko Mizuno has enjoyed giving her version of Hansel & Gretel and The Little Mermaid (Mermaid Princess), not yet translated into Italian, but available in English.
