Dopo 54 anni torna nelle sale Mary Poppins con un sequel diretto da Rob Marshall e tratto dai libri della serie di P. L. Travers, “Il ritorno di Mary Poppins”.
Il film vede come protagonista Emily Blunt e nel cast troviamo anche Dick Van Dyke, il celebre Bert del primo Mary Poppins, assieme a Angela Lansbury, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ben Whishaw, Emily Mortimer, Julie Walters, Colin Firth.
Anche “Il ritorno di Mary Poppins” è un musical fantasy ed è uscito in Italia il 20 dicembre.

After 54 years Mary Poppins returns to theaters with a sequel directed by Rob Marshall and based on the book series of P. L. Travers, ‘Mary Poppins Returns’.
The film stars Emily Blunt as main character together with Dick Van Dyke, the famous Bert in the first Mary Poppins, Angela Lansbury, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ben Whishaw, Emily Mortimer, Julie Walters, Colin Firth.
‘Mary Poppins Returns’ is a musical fantasy and was released on December 19th in the USA.

Trama / Plot

Michael e Jane sono cresciuti, Michael ha 3 figli e abita ancora al numero 17 di Viale dei Ciliegi, la sua vita potrebbe essere perfetta, ma si trova ad affrontare la crisi economica e la recente perdita dell’amata moglie.
La sorella e la pasticciona domestica Ellen cercano di aiutarlo, ma sarà l’arrivo di Mary Poppins a dare una svolta alla storia.

Michael and Jane have grown up, Michael has 3 children and still lives at the 17 Cherry Tree Lane, his life could be perfect but he is facing the Great Slump and the recent loss of his beloved wife.
The sister and the messy housekeeper Ellen try to help him, but it will be the arrival of Mary Poppins to make the difference.

Commento / Review

Affrontare il sequel dell’amato Mary Poppins è una sfida difficile, ne Il ritorno di Mary Poppins è stata fatta l’intelligente scelta, e forse scontata, di mantenere inalterato il flavour del grande classico, rivisitandone le scene iconiche.
La scelta di Emily Blunt come nuova Mary Poppins è super azzeccata, il mix tra musica, comicità, dramma e buoni sentimenti è riuscito e riesce a regalare la magia con una trama che risulta al contempo intensa e fresca.

Making the sequel of the beloved Mary Poppins is a hard challenge, in Mary Poppins Returns it was made the smart choice, and perhaps obvious, to keep the flavor of the great classic, revisiting the iconic scenes.
The choice of Emily Blunt as new Mary Poppins is great, the mix of music, comedy, drama and good feelings has managed to deliver the magic with a plot that is both intense and fresh.
