Il 17 novembre è stata inaugurata la mostra “Wild at Heart – Cuore selvaggio” prima personale di Miss Van in Italia, alla Dorothy Circus Gallery a Roma, un’artista che proviene dalla street art e la cui tecnica pittorica preferita è l’acrilico.

On November the 17th “Wild at Heart” exhibition was opened, it’s the first Miss Van solo in Italy, at the Dorothy Circus Gallery in Rome, she is an artist from the street art and her painting technique is the acrylic.

Miss Van inizia le sue opere murali a 18 anni, nella Tolosa degli anni ‘90, rappresentando in un primo momento le sue bambole acerbe e sensuali per il desiderio di affermare se stessa, avendo una gemella forse sentiva forte l’impulso di differenziarsi e manifestare la propria unicità nei suoi lavori. Con il tempo questo impulso è stato sostituito dalla voglia di provocare, decide così di disegnare le sue bambole a seno scoperto nei posti meno appropriati, cercando di suscitare reazioni nelle persone, scioccarle e farle evadere dalla realtà di tutti i giorni portandole per un attimo nella dimensione del sogno.
Portare l’arte in strada significa liberarla: renderla accessibile a tutti e non essere soggetti ad alcun tipo di censura, muoversi in un ambito artistico non convenzionale e proibito.

Miss Van painted her first murals at 18 years old, in the 90s in Toulouse, at the beginnings she represented her immature and sensual dolls for the desire to affirm herself, maybe having a twin sister pushed her to distinguish herselves and to show her uniqueness in the artworks. Later on this impulse has been replaced by the desire to provoke, so she has decided to paint her topless dolls in inappropriate places, trying to provoke public reaction, to shock them and to make them escape from reality of everyday life, bringing them in the dream dimension for a moment.
Bringing art into the street means to free it: make it accessible to a larger public audience, there is no censorship and art is in an unconventional and prohibited field.

Le creature di Miss Van sono circondate da un’aura erotica raffinata, delle conquistatrici misteriose che padroneggiano le regole della seduzione e rendono il piacere un’arte.
Il loro gioco di seduzione può portare sia all’ebbrezza che alla distruzione, talvolta trascinate loro stesse in un pericoloso gioco di ruoli, in cui si trovano cristallizzate a recitare una parte.

Miss Van’s creatures are surrounded by a refined erotic aura, mysterious seductresses that master the rules of attraction and that make the pleasure art.
Their game of seduction can lead to delight or to destruction, sometimes it drags themselves in a dangerous game of roles, where they are crystallized to play a part.

Miss Van & Dan Quintana - Mariposa

Alla mostra “Wild at Heart – Cuore selvaggio” sono presenti sedici opere, di cui sette opere inedite e due lavori in collaborazione con Dan Quintana, street artist di Los Angeles.

At the “Wild at Heart” exhibition there are sixteen artworks, including seven new ones and two collaboration pieces with Dan Quintana, a Los Angeles street artist.
