Dopo mesi di attesa, è finalmente uscito nelle sale Monsters University, il film di animazione prequel di Monsters & Co. uscito nel lontano 2001, diretto da Dan Scanlon e prodotto da Pixar Animation Studios e distribuito da Walt Disney Pictures.

Monsters University has finally been released in theaters, the prequel to 2001’s Monsters, Inc., directed by Dan Scanlon, produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures.

Trama / Plot

In questo film vediamo nascere all’università l’amicizia tra Mike, studioso e poco spaventoso, e Sulley, svogliato ma dall’aspetto terrificante, entrambi con il sogno di diventare Spaventatori professionisti, ovvero spaventare i bambini umani di notte per incamerare la loro energia che verrà convertita in elettricità per il loro mondo.
I due protagonisti si trovano così a collaborare e gareggiare insieme nelle Spaventiadi per guadagnarsi un posto nell’ambita classe del corso base di Spavento del Professor Knight nella MU (Monsters University) diretta dal Rettore Abigail Tritamarmo, che detiene il record di spavento.
Nel film conosciamo i simpatici compagni della confraternita OK, Don Carlton, Terri e Terry Perry, Art, Scott “Squishy” Squibbles, e approfondiamo la rivalità con Randall, uno degli antagonisti di Sulley in Monsters & co.

In this film we find out how Mike, scholar and not scary, and Sulley, who looks terrifying but is listless, become friends, both with the dream of being professional scarers, employees who venture into children’s bedrooms to scare them and collect their screams, that are the power of their world.
The two main characters have to join forces and compete together in the Scare Games to earn a spot in the introductory course to Scaring held by Professor Knight in the MU (Monsters University) whose Dean is Abigail Hardscrabble, who is the holder of the all-time scare record.
In the movie we meet the OK fraternity brothers, Don Carlton, Terri and Terry Perry, Art, Scott “Squishy” Squibbles, and deepen the rivalry with Randall, one of the Sulley’s antagonists in Monsters & co.

È difficile replicare l’ottimo risultato di Monsters & co., ma Monsters University è sicuramente un prequel di successo, che non fa rimpiangere il film originale.
Il setting in università lascia campo libero alla creatività, ci sono moltissime scenette comiche irresistibili ed è facile riconoscersi nel mood goliardico della vita studentesca.
È sicuramente un film fruibile anche da chi non ha visto Monsters & co., ma consiglio di arrivare preparati perché è bello scoprire le dinamiche e lo sviluppo delle relazioni tra i personaggi già noti e ritrovare volti familiari nel college!

It is difficult to repeat the success of Monsters, Inc., but Monsters University is definitely a great prequel, that doesn’t make regret the original film.
The setting in the university is really funny, there are a lot of irresistible scenes and it is easy to recognize ourselves in the crazy school lifestyle.
This movie is definitely enjoyable even by those who haven’t seen Monsters, Inc. yet, but I recommend to watch it because it is nice to discover the dynamics and the development of the relations between the characters already known and to find familiar faces in the college!

Ho sempre avuto paura dei mostri, ma di fronte agli studenti della Monsters University le sensazioni che ho provato sono state: tenerezza, perchè tutti i mostrini sono carini e colorati con tinte pastello, e simpatia, perchè durante il film mi hanno fatto ridere con innumerevoli gag.
Mi sono innamorata del design dell’ambiente universitario e mi sono divertita a scorgere le decorazioni a corna con cui sono stati arricchiti i vari elementi.
Il film insegna inoltre valori importanti come l’amicizia e ci stimola ad impegnarci in ciò che crediamo per realizzare i nostri sogni.

I’ve always been afraid of monsters, but Monsters University students are nice and funny, because they are all cute and colorful, in pastel shades, and their jokes made me laugh.
I love the university setting and I enjoyed seeing the “horn” decorations that enriched different elements.
The film also teaches important values such as friendship and encourages us to apply ourselves to make our dreams come true.

Non so se mi piacerà come il precedente, il primo infatti mi è piaciuto soprattutto per la presenza di Boo. Per me quella piccoletta era il pezzo forte del film, lei e Sullivan erano così teneri insieme T^T
