Museum of the Moon è un’installazione itinerante studiata dall’artista inglese Luke Jerram, realizzando una luna di 7 metri di diametro in scala circa di 1:500,000.
Per creare la superficie l’artista ha utilizzato un’immagine di 21 metri realizzata dall’Astrogeology Science Centre in USA e scattata da un satellite NASA.

Museum of the Moon is a touring artwork by UK artist Luke Jerram, that has designed a 7 meter in diameter moon at an approximate scale of 1:500,000.
To create the surface, the artist used a 21-meter wide image made by the Astrogeology Science Center in the USA and taken by a NASA satellite.

L’installazione ha trovato posto in numerosi eventi in tutto il mondo, che hanno lanciato nuove suggestioni e significati all’opera che ha accompagnato: dai Festival di musica elettronica a musica classica a eventi culturali, è stata sospesa su piscine olimpioniche o sulle rovine di antiche abbazie.

The installation has been set in many events around the world, which have launched new suggestions and meanings to the work that was housed at electronic music Festival as well as at classical music concert and cultural events, it has been suspended on Olympic swimming pools or on the ruins of ancient abbeys.
