“Solo: A Star Wars Story”, diretto da Ron Howard e prodotto da Lucasfilm e Walt Disney Pictures, è il secondo film della serie Star Wars Anthology ambientata nell’universo di Guerre stellari.
Il film è ambientato undici anni prima degli eventi di “Star Wars: Episodio IV - Una nuova speranza” e racconta di come Han Solo ha iniziato le sue avventure sulla Millennium Falcon e ha conosciuto Chewbacca e Lando Calrissian.
Esce nelle sale cinematografiche italiane il 23 maggio e il 25 negli U.S.A.

“Solo: A Star Wars Story”, directed by Ron Howard and produced by Lucasfilm and Walt Disney Pictures, is the second film in the Star Wars Anthology series set in the universe of Star Wars.
The film is set prior to the events of “Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope” and explores how Han Solo began his adventures on the Millennium Falcon and met Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian.
It is released in Italian theatres on May 23rd and 25th in the U.S.A.

Trama / Plot

Il sogno del giovane Han Solo è quello di diventare un pilota e fuggire dal suo pianeta Corellia con la sua fidanzata Qi’ra, dove entrambi vengono oppressi da Lady Proxima.
Inizia così la sua attività di contrabbandiere finché un giorno riesce in modo rocambolesco e non senza perdite a scappare e ad arruolarsi nell’esercito imperiale.
Durate una delle azioni incontra e segue Tobias Becket, un personaggio poco raccomandabile membro del sindacato criminale chiamato Alba Cremisi.
Scopriamo così come Han conosce Chewbacca e Lando Calrissian e ritroverà la sua amata Qi’ra come luogotenente di Dryden Vos, un alto esponente del sindacato.

The dream of young Han Solo is to become a pilot and escape from his planet Corellia with his girlfriend Qi’ra, where both are oppressed by Lady Proxima.
He begins his activity as a smuggler until one day he succeeds in escaping daringly and painfully and he enlists in the imperial army.
During one of the missions he meets and follows Tobias Becket, a dodgy member of the criminal syndicate Crimson Dawn.
We find out how Han meets Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian and again his beloved Qi’ra as a lieutenant of Dryden Vos, a high-ranking member of the union.

Commento / Review

Durante tutti i 135 minuti si susseguono ininterrottamente scene d’azione che ben si sposano con il carattere turbolento di Han.
L’azione e il dramma sono bilanciati da momenti comici ed esilaranti ed è interessante scoprire scena dopo scena alcuni dei personaggi che abbiamo tanto amato nei film precenti.
Il film rende omaggio al sapore della saga principale e ci mostra in modo leggero gli eventi che hanno portato Han ad essere il mascalzone che conosciamo.
“Solo: A Star Wars Story” si guarda in modo disimpegnato e può rappresentare una ventata di freschezza, ripetto agli ultimi capitoli di Star Wars, che per vvi motivi erano sicuramente più cupi e seri.

Action never stops throughout the movie, this fast rhythm matches well with Han’s turbulent personality.
The action and the drama are balanced by comic and hilarious moments and it is interesting to discover some of the characters that we loved in the previous films.
The movie pays tribute to the flavor of the main saga and shows us lightly the events that led Han to become the scoundrel we know.
“Solo: A Star Wars Story” is way lighter than the last chapters of Star Wars, which for obvious reasons were certainly more dark and serious.
