Non Solo Kawaii

Lo scorso 13 aprile sono state inaugurate due mostre alla Corey Helford Gallery: “Japanese Ideology of Puberty” di Kazuki Takamatsu, ospitata proprio nella galleria, e “New and Rare Works” di Ray Caesar nello spazio CHG Circa.

Two exhibitions were opened at the Corey Helford Gallery on April 13: “Japanese Ideology of Puberty” by Kazuki Takamatsu, housed in the gallery, and “New and Rare Works” by Ray Caesar at CHG Circa.

“Before I Hide Away” è il nome della mostra di Brandi Milne alla Corey Helford Gallery. Le opere che ha realizzato per questo show rievocano ambienti da favola, in cui si muovono artisti del circo e creature soprannaturali, adornati da elementi naturali.

“Before I Hide Away” is the name of Brandi Milne’s solo show at Corey Helford Gallery. The artworks that she has painted for this show evoke fairy tale settings, where circus artists and supernatural creatures live, adorned with natural elements.

La mostra My Little Pony Project 2012, curata da Sweet Streets per Hasbro, celebra la serie animata “My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic”. In mostra sono esposti, oltre ad una trentina di My Little Pony personalizzati, anche numerosi quadri.

My Little Pony Project 2012 is an exhibition curated by Sweet Streets for Hasbro, it celebrates “My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic”. In this exhibition it’s possible to watch about thirty customized My Little Ponies and many paintings.

“Venus Cake” è una mostra che raccoglie una serie di quadri di Junko Mizuno con tema “food obsession” fino al 20 aprile presso la galleria Narwhal Project di Toronto. Le pin-up di Junko Mizuno lo sono e assaporano felici i loro cibi preferiti abbigliate di sola lingerie.

“Venus Cake” is an exhibition which is composed by a collection of Junko Mizuno’s paintings that represent the “food obsession” until April 20 at the Narwhal Project gallery in Toronto. Junko Mizuno’s pin-ups are like that and savor their favorite foods wearing only underwear.

A fine dicembre si è svolta un’iniziativa molto carina che vedeva coinvolta Barbie, che per due settimane è stata acconciata dai parrucchieri dei saloni Bleach, utilizzando anche i suoi capelli personalizzabili e stampabili: i Designable Hair.

At the end of December there was a cute initiative where Barbie took part in, her hair were done by the hair stylists of Bleach salons for two weeks, even using her customizable and printable hair: the Designable Hair.

Lisa Petrucci è una pittrice americana che rappresenta le sue passioni con uno stile kawaii e kitsch. Lisa chiama i suoi character Kickass Kuties, abbiamo fatto qualche domanda a questa artista che amiamo molto e ora vi lasciamo alla sua intervista.
