Takako Kimura (Chiba, 1974) è un’artista giapponese che vive e lavora tra Berlino e Tokyo.
Nelle sue opere costruisce dei microcosmi abitati da numerose creature che fanno parte di un grande insieme, spesso costrette a coesistere forzatamente, per raggiungere un unico obiettivo.
Takako Kimura (Chiba, 1974) is a Japanese artist who lives and works between Berlin and Tokyo.
In her works she builds microcosms inhabited by many creatures that are part of a whole, often forced to coexist, to achieve a common goal.

Il suo modello rappresentativo rientra sicuramente nell’ambito pop kawaii, popolato da dolcissimi coniglietti, orsetti, pulcini, delfini, nuvolette e tante altre piccole carinissime creature.
Her representative model certainly falls within kawaii pop culture, populated by sweet bunnies, bears, chicks, dolphins, clouds and many other little cute creatures.

Ad un primo impatto si viene rapiti dalla tenerezza di personaggi che compongono questi agglomerati di puro concentrato kawaii, ma guardando più attentamente possiamo trovare del disagio nel sovraffollamento, la ricerca di una propria identità, ma anche il senso di “appartenenza” intrinsecamente radicato nella socità giapponese.
L’appartenenza, il gruppo può essere l’unico modo per raggiungere degli obiettivi, per sentirsi parte di un progetto superiore che coinvolga le singole sensibilità che riunendosi e collaborando concorrono nella realizzazione di un mondo migliore.
At first glance you are caught by the tenderness of the characters that make up these groups made of pure kawaii essence, but looking at them more closely we can find the discomfort of overcrowding, the search of their identity, but also the sense of “belonging” deeply rooted in Japanese society.
The sense of “belonging”, the group may be the only way to achieve goals, to be part of a superior project which involves the individual sensibilities that get together and work together to make a better world.
