Settimana scorsa abbiamo avuto il piacere di partecipare alla conferenza stampa di Ducktales, la nuova divertente serie TV Disney che vede protagonista Paperon de’ Paperoni e i suoi vivaci nipotini Qui, Quo e Qua, on air in Italia su Disney Channel (canale 613 di Sky) dal 26 novembre con un nuovo episodio ogni domenica alle ore 19:45 per 25 puntate da 22 minuti.
Last week we had the pleasure of attending the press conference of Ducktales, the new funny Disney TV series featuring Scrooge McDuck and his mischievous grandchildren Huey, Dewey and Louie, on air in Italy on Disney Channel (Sky - Channel 613) on November 26th with a new episode every Sunday at 19:45 for 25 episodes with a running time of 22 minutes.

DuckTales è il remake moderno dell’omonima serie del 1987 ispirata ai fumetti di Carl Barks, geniale disegnatore e autore Disney.
Il remake non solo è in TV, ma anche nelle pagine di Topolino con una serie di avventure originali ambientate nel mondo di Ducktales disegnate dagli italiani Luca Usai e Gianfranco Florio (con la supervisione di Marco Ghiglione), che abbiamo avuto il piacere di incontrare durante la conferenza.
DuckTales is the modern ramake of the homonymous 1987 series inspired by Carl Barks comics, ingenious Disney cartoonist and author.
The remake is not only on TV but also on the Donald Duck Pocket Books with a series of original adventures set in the world of Ducktales designed by the Italians Luca Usai and Gianfranco Florio (under the supervision of Marco Ghiglione), who we had the pleasure to meet during the conference.

Durante la conferenza Luca Usai e Gianfranco Florio hanno disegnato i personaggi per noi e ci hanno spiegato le differenze tra la versione moderna di Ducktales e quella del 1987.
During the conference Luca Usai and Gianfranco Florio drew the characters for us explaining the differences between the modern version of Ducktales and the 1987 one.

Il nuovo stile è squadrato, è una rivisitazione che mixa modernità e tradizione.
I personaggi vengono colorati con le classiche tonalità sature, mentre gli sfondi hanno un look and feel vintage.
I personaggi hanno tutti strutture fisiche differenti, non è lo stesso corpo che viene “personalizzato” come in passato. Paperone ad esempio ha il becco più corto di Paperino ed, essendo più anziano, la coda punta verso terra, mentre quella di Paperino è all’insù.
The new style is squared, a reworking that blends modernity and tradition.
Characters are colored with classic bright shades, while the backgrounds have a vintage look and feel.
The characters have all different body structures. Scrooge McDuck, for example, has a shorter beak then Donald Duck’s one, and since he is older the tail is pointing to the ground, while the Donald Duck’s one is upward.

Paperone nel remake è vestito di rosso come nella tradizione Disney, mentre nella serie dell’87 era vestito di blu.
Sono state aggiunte toppe e tasche al suo vestito per rendere più vissuto il suo abbigliamento, le ghette non hanno bottoni, la tuba è più grande e gli occhiali sono uniti e non sono due lenti divise.
Scrooge McDuck in the remake is dressed in red as in the Disney tradition while in the 1987 series was in blue.
Patches and pockets have been added to his suit to make his clothing older, gaiters have no buttons, the tube is larger and the glasses are joined and are not two single lenses anymore.

Paperino nel remake ha un ruolo non più marginale, ma è uno dei protagonisti e compare in tutti gli episodi.
A Paperino è affidata la parte comica più classica che viene affiancata dalla simpatia surreale di Jet Mc Quack.
Nei confronti di Qui, Quo e Qua è molto apprensivo ed è una vera e propria figura genitoriale.
Donald Duck is no less marginal, but he is one of the protagonists and appears in all episodes.
Donald Duck has the most classic comic role together with Jet Mc Quack’s surreal Humour.
He is very apprehensive of Huey Dewey Louie and is like a parent for them.

La grande rivoluzione del remake riguarda i nipotini, prima visti come un’entità unica con un solo carattere.
Nelle nuove Ducktales ognuno ha il suo ruolo, la sua personalità, il suo stile e, nonostante siano gemelli, c’è un fratello maggiore e uno minore.
Qui è il fratello più grande, il più responsabile, indossa un outfit rosso con t-shirt e cappellino ed è incaricato nell’aggiornamento del manuale delle Giovani Marmotte.
Quo è il fratello di mezzo, ha una doppia maglia azzurra, è il più avventuroso e impulsivo.
Qua, il più piccolo, con la felpa verde, è molto arguto, un vero affarista e ha sempre la risposta pronta.
The great revolution of the remake is about the personality of the grandchildren, no more presented like one character.
In the new Ducktales each has his role, personality, style and, despite being twins, there is a eldest and a youngest brother.
Huey is the eldest brother, the most responsible, wearing a red outfit with t-shirts and cap and is in charge of updating the Junior Woodchucks Guidebook.
Dewey has a double blue shirt, is the most adventurous and impulsive.
Louie is the youngest bother with the green hoodie, is very smart, a real “businessman” and always has a ready answer.

Anche Gaia, la nipotina della Governante di Paperone, Bentina Beakley, è stata rivisitata in chiave moderna.
Dimenticate la dolce paperina con il fiocco enorme centrale, la nuova Gaia è il motore dell’azione, è intraprendente, tosta e avventurosa. Indossa un più comodo piccolo fiocco laterale e le ciglia sono state sostituite da un grintoso tratto di eyeliner.
Gaia e Quo saranno amici per la pelle!
Webby Vanderquack, Scrooge McDuck’s Governor nephew, Bentina Beakley, has been revisited in a modern way.
Forget the sweet little girl with a huge bow on her head, the new Webby is ready to action, tough and adventurous. She Wears a more handy small side bow and the eyelashes have been replaced by a bold defined cat liner.
Webby and Dewey will be best friends!
