Ricordate la casa volante del film d’animazione Up di Disney e Pixar, con tutti quei palloncini colorati?
È la scena più spettacolare e celebre del film.

Do you remember the flying house of Up, the animated movie by Disney and Pixar, with all those colorful balloons?
It is the most spectacular and famous scene of the movie.

Chissà quanti bambini, e kawaii girls, avranno chiesto alle loro mamme se potevano avere anche loro una casa volante (se non ricordo male, Laura mi aveva fatto una domanda del genere…).
Quanto può essere difficile? Difficile? Molti avrebbero detto impossibile e… si sarebbero sbagliati!

Many children and kawaii girls would have asked their moms a flying house too (if I remember correctly, Laura asked me something like that…).
How hard can it be? Difficult? Many people would have said “impossible”… they are wrong!

Durante uno degli episodi della nuova trasmissione “How Hard Can it Be?” (Quanto Può Essere Difficile?), in onda da autunno sul canale National Geographic, un team di ingegneri, scienziati e due piloti di mongolfiere ci ha dimostrato che anche quello che succede nei cartoni animati si può trasformare in realtà.

A team of engineers, scientists and two balloon pilots has shown us that what happens in cartoons can come true, during an episode of the new show “How Hard Can it Be?“, broadcasted in autumn on the National Geographic Channel.

Hanno ricostruito la casa gialla di Carl Fredricksen a grandezza reale con una base di 4,8 m x 4,8 m e 5,5 m di altezza, e hanno attaccato al tetto 300 palloni di elio grandi 2,5 m circa ciascuno.
Nelle prime ore del 5 marzo, a est di Los Angeles, il film Up ha preso vita: la casa volante, grazie ai suoi bellissimi palloncini colorati, ha spiccato il volo arrivando a un’altitudine di 3000 m e restando nel cielo per più di 1 ora.
Ecco stabilito il nuovo record del mondo per il più grande gruppo di palloni volante.
Noi diremmo: un kawaii record!

They built the Carl Fredricksen’s yellow life-size house with a base of 4.8 m x 4.8 m (16 feet x 16 feet) and 5.5 m in height (18 feet) and they fastened 300 helium balloons large about 2.5 m (8 feet) each at the roof.
The movie Up became real on March 5 in East Los Angeles: the flying house thanks to its cute colorful balloons reached the altitude of 3000 m (10,000 feet) and has stayed in the sky for more than 1 hour.
It set a new world record for the largest balloon cluster flight.
We would say: a kawaii record!
