• Servizio di Ricerca Fotografica: spesso si perde tempo a cercare la foto perfetta, mentre la scadenza si avvicina e non abbiamo terminato ancora i contenuti, Getty Images offre la soluzione con un servizio di ricerca ad hoc.

Immagini ma non solo, Getty Images offre anche video e musica.

Getty Images collects 25 million images divided into 3 categories:

• Creative images: the chance to buy art photographs taken by famous photographers, but also services of commissioned photography.
• Editorial images: photographs by award-winning authors, reportages of events, news, sports and entertainment, in video format too.
• Photo Research Service: searching the perfect photo often takes long time, while the deadline is close and we have not finished the contents yet, Getty Images offers the solution with a searching service ad hoc.

Not only images but Getty Images also collects videos and music.

Come si acquista?
Una volta trovato il contenuto che ci interessa grazie ad un motore di ricerca interno molto dettagliato dobbiamo ottenere la licenza, pagare e scaricare l’immagine.
Per ogni immagine è associata una formula di licenza che prevede diverse condizioni d’uso, come il periodo di utilizzo dell’immagine.
Le licenze sono:

• Rights-Managed: si paga solo quando si usa l’immagine e il costo dipende dal mezzo usato, dalla tiratura, dalla posizione, dalla durata e dalla dimensione.
• Esclusiva: si può aggiungere l’esclusività di una fotografia Rights-Managed per settore, uso o totale.
• Royalty Free: acquisti l’immagine e paghi solo le sue dimensioni e la risoluzione, non l’uso che ne viene fatto.
• Licenza Collettiva: consente a gruppo di persone di usufruire della stessa immagine Royalty Free senza violazioni.

How do I buy?
Once you find the right content through a very detailed search engine, you must get the license, pay and download the image.
Each image is associated with a kind of license that provides different terms and conditions, like the period of license.
The licenses are:

• Rights-Managed: you pay only when you use the image and the cost depends on the medium used, press run, position, duration and size.
• Exclusive: you can add the exclusivity to a rights-managed photograph, for sector, use or complete.
• Royalty Free: when you purchase a image, you pay only its size and resolution, not the use.
• Collective License: it allows that groups of people can use the same Royalty Free image without violations.

Thinkstock invece offre un servizio di abbonamento per immagini con 4.5 milioni di scatti royalty-free professionali.
Anche Thinkstock ha un ottimo motore di ricerca interno e offre la possibilità di protezione legale contro le violazioni di copyright.
Come servizio di abbonamento, ha un prezzo competitivo 199€ al mese per 25 fotografie al giorno e uno sconto per l’abbonamento annuale.
Ci sono dei siti che offrono prezzi più convenienti, ma sicuramente Thinkstock ha il suo punto di forza nella qualità del servizio e nel database ricchissimo.

Instead Thinkstock offers a subscription service for images with 4.5 million of royalty-free professional photos.
Thinkstock has an excellent search engine too and offers the possibility of legal protection against copyright violations.
As a subscription service has a competitive price, €199 per month for 25 images a day and a discount on annual subscription.
There are websites that offer lower prices, but certainly Thinkstock has its strength in the service quality and in the rich database.
